HONOR MagicBook 15 : Review after 3 months of use

Published by M. Behera on

It has been more than 6 months since the Honor MagicBook 15 was launched in India.
But still this laptop is very popular among Indians. The price segment in which the laptop was launched already has a lot of laptops in it, while it was very popular in the market when it arrived.
Its direct competition is with Mi Notebook 14.

I have been using this laptop for more than 3 months. I like this laptop a lot but there are some points about this laptop that I donโ€™t like.

So in todayโ€™s blog I will tell you which points of this laptop I liked and which points I didnโ€™t like.

A few points about Magic book 15.

Basically this laptop is a cheap MacBook. There is a reason to say so. If you look at its style, it will remind you of the macBook. So this laptop is thin and the blue element in it doubles the beauty of this laptop.
Speaking of its specifications, you can see the 15.6-inch full view display on this laptop. Its display is TUV Rheinland-certified.
It comes with a 2-in-1 button that will work like a power button with a fingerprint sensor.
The box is equipped with a 65w fast charger. According to the company, the charger can charge 53% battery in 30 minutes. Even when I used it, I noticed that it was charging the laptop very quickly. If we talk about battery back-up, it can run for 4-5 hours with less use.
This laptop comes with a Ryzen 5 3500U processor. Radeon Vega 8 graphics cards are also available.
The laptop comes with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage. The RAM type is DDR4 dual-channel RAM while SSD is used in internal storage.
The laptop comes with a pop-up web cam that is good for security.
The build quality of this laptop is also good.

Points that I like about the MagicBook 15

  • Design : This laptop is thin and beautiful to look at. As I said before, the blue stripe on it further enhances its beauty.
  • Battery Backup : Its battery backup is good. If you are not doing anything heavy, you will get a 4-5 hour battery back-up at full charge. If you are doing something heavy, you will get a 3-4 hour backup on full charge.
  • Specifications : The laptop offers great specifications at this price point. The laptop is priced at Flipkart at Rs 42,900 which is subject to change during the offer.
  • 65 W power adapter : This laptop is equipped with a 65W adapter that charges the laptop very quickly. The adapter is also small and looks like a mobile charger, so it’s easy to take it anywhere.

points that I don’t like about the MagicBook 15

  • Storage space : It uses SSD for Storage space which is good but given only 256 GB of storage space which is not enough for most people.
  • No Backlit keyboard : Even at this price point you donโ€™t get a backlit keyboard in it which is a downgrade about this laptop.
  • Web cam placement : Its web cam goes down, next to the keyboard so that it doesn’t take your face properly during a video call.
